Amelie Baxter
Still deciding exactly where I’m headed — and building a broad, hands-on foundation along the way.
I’m 18, I’ve just finished my A-levels, and I’ve spent the last few years saying yes to a wide range of work: running a database project inside a real business, working a VIP photoshoot, teaching sailing to children on a US summer camp, and setting up a market stall with my sister when I was younger. I don’t have one fixed career plan yet — business, marketing and running something of my own are all on the table — so this is simply an honest record of what I’ve done and what I’m capable of.
What I bring
Skills that keep showing up, whatever the setting.
Experience
A run of short placements and jobs, each one different on purpose.
Business Operations & Marketing
Worked across operations, purchasing, finance and marketing at a real business. Managed goods in and out, handled inbound calls and customer enquiries, supported the marketing team’s content planning, and independently designed a Microsoft Access database form from brief to working solution.
Lifeguard & Sailing Instructor
Supervised groups of children across the pool, waterfront and bunk activities for two months, holding responsibility for their safety while running structured sailing and swim sessions in a fast-paced, independent environment.
Production Assistant
Supported a seven-day Omega photoshoot: pre-production logistics, preparing VIP goody bags, welcoming VIP guests on the day, and coordinating fast-changing on-set requirements.
Show earlier roles
Food & Beverage Assistant, Front of House
Served food and prepared beverages to a high presentation standard, gave tailored recommendations, and worked closely with the kitchen team to keep service running smoothly.
Sales Representative
Represented a design-led outdoor product at a live exhibition — set up and broke down the stand, and engaged visitors confidently on design and material choices.
Architectural Assistant, Work Experience
Independently designed a Japanese Tea House concept using Adobe Creative Suite and DreamStudio, then presented the finished project to the studio team.
Craft Pack Stallholder
Co-ran a small stall with my sister — sourced materials, designed and assembled handmade craft packs, then sold them on the day, explaining how each one was made.
Christmas Craft Tent Helper
Set up activities, welcomed families, supported children with crafts, and reset the tent each day.
Shop Assistant
Served customers, carried out stock checking and barcoding, and supported local marketing through leaflet distribution.
